Double Tap’d is an editorial site about restaurants, bars, nightlife and places worth showing up for in Los Angeles. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect when you use the site and what we do with it.

What we collect

We collect what you choose to send us through our forms, plus the basic site-usage data described under “Analytics” below:

Newsletter signup: your email address.
Contact and partnership inquiries: your name, email, company or venue, the city or market, the type of project, and your message.
Handl’d plan requests: your first name (optional), email, and the plan details you choose to share, such as occasion, party size, timing, neighborhoods, budget and preferences.
Creator interest: your name, email, home city, cities you can cover, social profile links, audience and content details, and brand work you choose to share.
Farewell tips and memories: the place name and details of a closing (status, timing, neighborhood, notes), memories you share, and, if you choose, your first name and email.

Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and general device, browser and approximate location information. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this data. We use it only in aggregate to improve the site.

Our forms include a hidden spam-check field. We don’t ask for payment details, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.

How we use it

To reply to you, send the newsletter you signed up for, and follow up on plan requests, inquiries and creator interest.
To check and write about Farewell tips. Memories you send may be quoted or paraphrased in a homage; we won’t publish your email address.
To keep spam out of our inbox.

Where it goes

We use a small number of service providers to run the site:

Vercel hosts the website and runs the code that receives form submissions. Like most hosts, it may process technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the site.
Resend delivers the email notification we receive when you submit a form.
Google Sheets (Google Workspace) is where submissions are stored so our team can follow up.
Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) measures site usage on our behalf. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

These providers process the information on our behalf to provide their services.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for others’ advertising.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information you sent by emailing info@doubletapd.com.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions only as long as we need them to respond, publish, or run the newsletter, and delete them when they’re no longer useful or when you ask.
